El más pequeño de los Mazda que conocemos en Europa, el Mazda2, se comercializa en Japón bajo la denominación Demio. Allí acaba de ponerse a la venta una nueva actualización del modelo que además del motor SkyActiv recibe modificaciones estéticas.
Entre las novedades más destacables podemos mencionar un nuevo diseño para las llantas de aleación, detalles decorativos específicos, intermitentes integrados en los espejos, gama de colores actualizada, interior renovado con materiales de superior calidad -en especial los tapizados y plásticos que recubren el salpicadero- y mayores posibilidades de equipamiento -nuevos equipos de sonido integrados-. Mazda espera vender unas 6.000 unidades al mes de este polivalente, que por fin cuenta con el sistema i-Stop de arranque/parada del motor.
